Implementation of data processing and privacy

 

The processing of data in the context of the Belgian patent register is mandatory according to the applicable law in Belgium (Belgian Patent Law 2014).

 

The Belgian patent register is a public register. The Belgian Patent Law 2014 requires for a large amount of data as well as all the communication between the Belgian Intellectual Property Office and a user of the BPP to be registered in the Belgian patent register.

 

The Belgian Intellectual Property Office uses the privacy policy as published on the webpage bpp.economie.fgov.be/bpp-portal/web/guest/home

 

BPP does not use cookies.

 

Right to object to certain processings

According to article 12, § 1, al. 2, of the Belgian law of 8 December 1992 on the protection of privacy with regard to the processing of personal data, and without prejudice to specific dispositions enshrined in book XI of the Belgian Economic Law Code, the data subject may not object to processing of personal data in the context of the BPP.
